Fall, New Moon Eclipse, and Letting Go

This new moon

I let go of

self-sabotage

and standing

in my own way

with release

of what no longer serves

me

I clear the path

to set new intentions

to make more aligned choices

and live

in my own

power

Each month, the new moon gives us an opportunity to begin anew, just like the moon cycle. Today’s new moon is a partial solar eclipse, and eclipses are said to be as powerful as 50 new or full moons. This gives us a very strong opportunity to get clear on what it is that we want to call forth in our lives that can reverberate far into the future.

As we look around, we see cues from nature that she, too, is letting go, slowing down, and making way for the quiet of winter. Even in California, where it’s almost always sunny, the sun rises later, it’s much chillier in the mornings, and the trees speak of softness.

Today, I am reflecting on all that I can let go of in order to make space for what feels true, aligned, and simply put, good. I want to release the things that no longer serve me in order to get clear on what truly does. Often times, when life isn’t going our way, we can be quick to point outwards at what isn’t working because of x, y, z and look for somewhere to blame. It can be human nature to blame someone else or blame oneself. Recently, I have come to realize it is truly me that is standing in my own way. I have so much potential to step into, but there are self-doubts, limiting beliefs, and choices that I make that aren’t always best for what speaks to my soul.

Rather than wallowing in blame, now for myself, I am choosing to use the power of this eclipse new moon to release, clear, and open myself to transformation. At the same time, I acknowledge that life is not linear, it’s not always forward facing, rather sometimes in circles or spirals, and so I continue to tune inwards, cultivate awareness, open myself to the present moment, and embrace moments of joy.

If you’d like to practice with me, you can find today’s new moon flow in the on-demand library. The library also has seasonal Yoga Nidra practices, seasonal workshops, barre practices, and more! Or join me for a live class here.

With love,

Catherine
