Fall Season 2025

the fall equinox

brings balance of light and dark

we find in ourselves

On the last weekend of summer, I found myself strolling through redwoods, dipping in the ocean, and saying goodbye to the summer season. Immersing myself in nature in full presence prepared me to transition into the new season of autumn around the corner.

from the last days of summer

we find ourselves at the fall equinox

this day of equal light and dark

reminds us to find our own balance

of work and rest, of gathering and releasing

nature mirrors our own inner rhythms

The autumn equinox shifts our focus from summer’s abundance to cultivating a sense of balance. What can we release and let go of? What can we make space to let in to our lives for this season? Fall invites us to harvest the fruits of our labor, gather what we’ve learned, and honor the harmony within ourselves, in order to slow down, nourish, and ground ourselves. As the days become shorter and the nights become cooler, nature invites us to start to turn inwards more, fill our days with less to bring more spaciousness, and soften the edges.

As we adjust our daily routines to align with a new season and as our focus shifts inwards, we may also feel the pull towards more creative pursuits. Creativity often grows when we provide time and space to not only make, but also listen, receive, and tune inwards.

This fall season, I had the pleasure of teaching an Intermediate Printmaking class along with a variety of workshops: Papermaking & Collage Inclusions, Georgia O’Keeffe Inspired Coloring for Fall, and Playful Printmaking. I’ll be teaching some of these again early next year and will share ways to sign up soon through my newsletter! In the meantime, you can explore some of my available artworks here.

If you'd also like to practice together this season, you can join my live yoga and barre classes here or explore on-demand yoga, barre, and yoga nidra offerings here.

Wishing you a wonderful fall season ahead,

Catherine
